Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/31/2024 4:22 PM
I think that supporting local farmers inspire me the most because there usually good people in my opinion and they get the food from a good source not by mass producing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn About Cattle Farming
What did you learn from visiting or researching a dairy farm?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/31/2024 9:10 AM
I learned that cows are treated really bad at most farms and slaughterd in a inhumane way.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/31/2024 5:21 AM
When you transit via bikesand other zero emission vehichles they can be really good for you and the enviroment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Learn about 'Green Gentrification'
Cities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/24/2024 8:44 AM
My city could make downtown a nicer place but not near housing so it doesn't affect home pricing or build parks near business rather than homes so it doesn't affect people trying to live.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/19/2024 5:56 PM
I learned that its important to know and learn about family planning so unplanned pregnancies don't occur. Also I learned that if you plan to have more kids that means you are using more resources so it's more harmful towards the earth People in high income areas need something different then people in low income areas but both areas are releasing harmful emissions just in different ways.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/16/2024 6:07 PM
I think that if everyone invests in this geothermal technology we will save a lot of money and reduce a lot of wasted energy and in the end release less co2.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/16/2024 9:20 AM
They could be installed on top of schools, hotels, and tall buildings where electricity is needed.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Learn More about Biomass
Had you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/09/2024 9:53 AM
I have never heard of biomass technology before this. I was really interested and surprised by the fact that it's all natural and releases zero emissions and that if we can harness this tool throughout the whole world we can replace fossil fuels.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 5/03/2024 9:37 AM
We can make petitions and try to start laws against it. Also we can fund companies that protect and build up peatlands.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Henry Leisring's avatar
    Henry Leisring 4/30/2024 9:03 AM
People in richer countries eat more meat than others because its more avalaible to them and there able to afford it. People in more poor countries don't have that same access and cant afford it. Eating meat can effect our body's in good and bad ways. But for the planet it can be unhealthy because we farm cattle, and other animals and we mass proudce them which can be a big stress on the earth.
