  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

I think a lot of times in my everyday life I will use paper to write just a few things or to think something out and then I will throw it away so I could be better with that. I feel the same about paper towels I will use those to wipe my hands or clean something up when I could just use something like a towel instead of having to waste paper towels.

This is a really good point. pulp/paper plantations are probably popular because of us consumers. By showing that we care about the peat lands, we could send a message to preserve them.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?

How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

Eating more healthy food helps the planet by not having to put out bad things to make meat and the food also makes me healthier and in a better mood causing people around me to also be in a good mood.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

When I know the difference in the labels I know when buying food how long I am going to have to get the best quality and safety out of that item. When I know what the labels mean I also know that a sell-by date is not for me to know and that the other dates will be able to help me make decisions on if I am going to have time to eat or use this product before this date and that will help me reduce waste.
