Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People in richer countries have more access to meat considering that meat is also normally pretty expensive. Eating and cooking meat can release carbon emissions possibly harming the environment and our planet.

What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

In my community I feel that women are treated almost as equals men, I do think that some people see them as less than or not as good as men. Although this is a problem in our community I think that women are treated a lot better then the women in other societies globally. Women in other parts of the world dont even get the opportunity to g to school or to be educated which is why I think women in our community have a lot more rights then women in other parts of the world. Going forward one person is not going to be able to fix this problem and especially somebody that is not living it or does not know what exactly is going on but it can be fixed if people are willing to fix it.

I think that the best way to invest and help make geothermal a more used energy is to invest in and buy from companies that will install geothermal pumps in homes or buildings.

This is the first time I have heard of Biomass and the most surprising thing to me is that over a lifetime if we implemented Biomass for one it would reduce a lot of CO2 emissions but it would also save 218-287 billion dollars.

Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

I think that in Asheville there could be micro wind turbines installed in places like at school or on some of the taller buildings in down town which would get energy to some of the places that use the most energy.

  This is a really good point. pulp/paper plantations are probably popular because of us consumers. By showing that we care about the peat lands, we could send a message to preserve them.

  There are many different types of refrigerants and with the use of CFCs being dangerous there was an agreement signed to use HFCs but those turned oit to be harmfulled to so world leaders made an agreement to start using natural refrigerants. Supermarkets are using alot more of the refrigirants then normal people just because they are having to keep a lot more food and drinks cold.

When I know the difference in the labels I know when buying food how long I am going to have to get the best quality and safety out of that item. When I know what the labels mean I also know that a sell-by date is not for me to know and that the other dates will be able to help me make decisions on if I am going to have time to eat or use this product before this date and that will help me reduce waste.
