    Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    The kind of waste that motivates me to change my habits the most is hours of labor. I have worked in the service industry for about a year now, and as someone who believes in fair pay for the services provided, it makes me sad to see so much effort wasted.

    I will admit that I am someone who can get grossed out by something in the fridge that has a date way past its use, but now that I know it's not a safety concern in most cases, I will be more conscientious about eating the food that should be eaten.
