WUC Challengers

I met all my goals for Thursday, Feb. 29th but didn't get them posted before midnight.

I wanted to thank everyone for participating in this Drawdown Ecochallenge. You can still log accomplishments for February. Hopefully you learned some new things and gained some climate-friendly habits.

Walked the dog briskly along the wide enough sidewalk of a major street to buy a baguette at a bakery. We walked along a bridge that was over a railroad track . As I walked along one of the downtown Ottawa street, I was pleased to see that the sidewalks were in pretty good repair. I didn't trip along uneven surfaces that could have been found on older sidewalks.

Walked around downtown Ottawa and walked Winnie several times about.

Walked about the Ottawa neighbourhoods while walking Winnie the dog. We see a lot of people walking along the streets to their bus stops, to work, to shop, to walk their dogs, etc. There are bus stops conveniently at certain corners so that people don't have to own a car and drive it to work.

I met a friend with her dog and we walked along a snow-covered path along the northern shore of the Ottawa river. We met someone skipping stones on the open Ottawa River. We were surprised to see someone doing this and commented how unusual to see this on the Ottawa River in February!!! This river is usually frozen over and very thick so that...
