Some more R’s I can add to my daily life are reusing and reducing.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Edith Stein 5/30/2024 7:20 PM
Some places I frequent are the grocery store, the pool, and my house. I can carpool to any of these places.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    Edith Stein's avatar
    Edith Stein 5/30/2024 7:19 PM
I am motivated to switch to a more fuel efficient vehicle because I know how bad fossil fuels are for the environment and I feel guilty driving a car that burns fossil fuels.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Edith Stein's avatar
    Edith Stein 5/30/2024 7:18 PM
I learned about how family planning is more accessible or less accessible depending on where you live.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Research Barriers to Participation and Representation
What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Edith Stein's avatar
    Edith Stein 5/30/2024 7:17 PM
Some barriers that exist in my community are access to sports teams and sports facilities. I know multiple girls who have to play on boy’s teams because they don’t have the opportunity to play on a girl’s team.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Find a Local Climate-Friendly Supermarket
How close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?

    Edith Stein 5/30/2024 7:17 PM
The nearest climate-friendly supermarket to me is the French Broad Co-op. I can encourage local supermarkets to reduce refrigerants by writing an email to the owner of a locally owned market and asking them about it.
