  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Test Drive an Electric Bike
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?

When I want to hangout with friends I usually bike and I think an electric bike could make it easier because I could get places faster.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Go for a Daily Walk

    Nolan Rhodes's avatar
    Nolan Rhodes 5/28/2024 4:27 PM
People in richer countries eat more meat because they can afford it and it's readily available. This leads to health risks, environmental damage, and affects global food resources.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    Nolan Rhodes's avatar
    Nolan Rhodes 5/28/2024 4:04 PM
Some of the other motivators that inspire me to switch to a more fuel-efficient vehicle is the faster acceleration, they are still very simple to use and be using them they introduce you to a whole new car community.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Nolan Rhodes's avatar
    Nolan Rhodes 5/14/2024 10:07 AM
The investment that seems the best to me is passive geothermal heating because the earth's temp is almost always the same and it's a very sustainable resource that does not release carbon.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    Nolan Rhodes's avatar
    Nolan Rhodes 5/13/2024 9:41 AM
Microturbines could potentials be but on the roofs of the large parking garages because there are many all around avl.
