  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Research Barriers to Participation and Representation
What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Annalise Pitt's avatar
    Annalise Pitt 5/17/2024 8:06 AM
Women being accepted into society is a huge barrier they face. When they are not following the ¨guidelines¨”that are set up for them by men then they're not accepted and welcomed, limiting their acces to rights and participation. In the community not having enough access to the feminine care they need is a huge barrier. That can cause them to not have the matericals they need to be able to go out and work and do household chores. I think that these exist because men put them in place a really long time ago when women didn't have many rights and men could have them do what they wanted them to. Moving forward i think that pink tax should not be a thing at all because it really is another barrier that makes it difficult for women to afford their supplies that are the same thing but for men.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Annalise Pitt's avatar
    Annalise Pitt 5/15/2024 8:01 AM
I learned that planning for a family can both reduce the overpopulation growth numbers and make you more aware about the life that you are adding and all the costs that comes with it to the world.
Each different place has a different amount of houses, water, food, and medical access. So as we all need all of this but don't have rough in some places, that is why we all always need something because we don't have rough of what we all need in our one place together it is somewhere else.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Annalise Pitt's avatar
    Annalise Pitt 5/14/2024 7:41 AM
Ways you can invest into geothermal energy is by supporting companies that design and install geothermal energy products an investing from your homme
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    Annalise Pitt's avatar
    Annalise Pitt 5/13/2024 7:23 AM
A micro turbine needs to be high up at least 30 feet with a maintenance room It can be placed on large land spaces or farms for energy I think it could be installed by a lake in North Carolina or an open area near a lake
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Wave and Tidal Energy
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?

    Annalise Pitt's avatar
    Annalise Pitt 5/10/2024 7:33 AM
I learned that this energy relies on the rise and fall of times that spin turbines to generate electricity.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
