By eating more fruits and veggies instead of more meat it helps the world around me by not contributing to slaughtering animals.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    EP Patton 5/03/2024 9:24 AM
If you live far away one thing you can do to protect peatlands is to make and sign petitions to protect peatlands from draining. You could also boycott the companies responsible.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    EP Patton 5/03/2024 8:57 AM
Eating smaller portions can also prevent overeating due to the fact you are not overloading your plate
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

By knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by it empowers me to not be afraid to eat foods that say sell by or best by because I now know that it is not unsafe to eat.
