    carsen holbrook 5/14/2024 7:48 AM
Pollution contaminates the air and water with toxins, which leads to health problems. The quality of our environment makes me realize how much we need to come together and find healthier solutions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    carsen holbrook's avatar
    carsen holbrook 5/14/2024 7:36 AM
Ways you can invest in geothermal energy is by supporting companies that design and install geothermal energy and investing from your home.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    carsen holbrook's avatar
    carsen holbrook 5/13/2024 7:09 AM
A micro turbine needs to be high up atleast 30 feet with a mantence room. It can be placed on large land spaces or farms for energy. I think it could be installed by a lake in NC or an open area.

Taking public transportation like city busses is healthy for our ecosystem because it helps with less pollution in the air and is a good way to not waste.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    carsen holbrook's avatar
    carsen holbrook 5/13/2024 6:06 AM
