Make the cost of houses less and add more plants on and around buildings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

No I have never heard of this, I think it is a great way to produce energy and could potentially give a town energy. If people were to give chipping from their garden or any natural waste this could work well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Food Waste
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

id probably just save it or buy a car or go to a thrift store
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Ralyn Foster's avatar
    Ralyn Foster 5/03/2024 7:26 AM
Don't buy palm oil or things with palm oil and make an effort to use less paper.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
What did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?

    Ralyn Foster's avatar
    Ralyn Foster 4/30/2024 8:07 AM
I learned that refrigerants are the main reason that the atmospheric ozone is being destroyed. And i learned that people actually made an effort to stop it and it worked.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Ralyn Foster's avatar
    Ralyn Foster 4/26/2024 7:34 AM
because in America we have more accessibility to meat. eating meant makes your cholesterol higher also we really aren't designed to eat meat because are intestines are too long so the meat is kinda rotting inside it. carnivores intestines are significantly shorter
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Ralyn Foster's avatar
    Ralyn Foster 4/25/2024 7:32 AM
Yes my brother has been saying for years that expiration dates are just a suggestion which i now realize is true. I am really scared of eating rotten or bad food so i always stuck to the expiration dates but now i realize i should base it on my own judgment.
