  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

You could make a social media post to help spread awareness or start a fundraiser and put that money towards persevering peatlands.

Articles I've read and the news story have helped me get a better idea of how we need to find a better way to make energy like through wind. I've talked to my family members about this and they said that we need to start turning off the extra light to not use as much energy.

If your house is more energy efficient you won't be putting an insane amount of carbon emissions and your power bill would be less and your home would be overall more sustainable.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
What did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?

    Samuel Crow's avatar
    Samuel Crow 4/30/2024 12:09 PM
To cool something you have to use refrigerants which can cause a lot of carbon emissions which is not good which is why they had the Montreal Protocol and supermarkets contribute to this because they are always cooling stuff like icecream meat ect which is bad for the enviorment and we need to find a better way.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 2
How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?

    Samuel Crow's avatar
    Samuel Crow 4/29/2024 9:01 AM
It was somewhat difficult because I like to drink coffee sometimes in the morning to wake me up. But this challenge helped me to drink a lot more water than I normally do so in conclusion I can live without coffee for days,

It lets you know what food is on its way out and if you buy something that's close to its due date make sure to eat it before your other stuff in your fridge. And make sure to look at dates when you buy stuff so you know how long you have to eat that product.
