I have been an environmental activist since I completed the Pachamama Alliance 1 day symposium "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream" in 2005. I was trained to lead the symposium and co-led several programs for several years. This participation started me and my husband on a journey to reduce our carbon footprint in our home. From there we began leading "Introduction to Project Drawdown" in our community and to other organizations, 1st in-person, and when the pandemic hit It we used zoom to present the programs. was a slow process beginning with insulating our home, reducing our waste, changing to clean energy, increasing our food consumption from local sources, eating vegetarian at least 1X/week, and eliminating red meat from our diets. In the past few years we switched our heating and cooling to heat pumps, installed solar panels on our roof where feasible, and purchased an EV in 2022. I was one of the initiators of Climate Action Lower Merion (CALM), and have been serving on the the Lower Merion Township Sustainability Plan development and now implementation. I continue to look for opportunities to make an impact on our environment for humans, wildlife and the natural world.
