What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

Family planning is a necessity to keep our population at a minimum and to let women choose when they want to have babies. Family planning can educate women on how to prevent pregnancies by the use of contraceptives, condoms, or abstinence until they want to have a child. This service can also provide additional support by supporting you individually and letting the community know, so that they can unite. Unwanted pregnancies that result in death or other life-altering disabilities can be easily prevented with the use of family planning. Teen pregnancies can also be avoided with family planning, which is an important thing because most teen pregnancies result in death or deformities.
The needs of people differ depending on what country they live in. People who live in rich, successful countries typically get more access to self-care products like birth control pills, protection, and other services. People who live in poor countries, however, don't get many resources and help like those in high-income countries do. Because of this, people in poorer countries have more babies being born, which can lead to economic strain on a family that is already struggling. People can also differ in their genetic makeup. Someone can have negative side effects when taking contraceptives, while others may not.

Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

You can invest in geothermal energy by learning about it, telling others how it helps the planet, and supporting clean energy laws. When you're older, you can also choose to support it with your money or vote for leaders who do.

I learned that family planning helps people decide when and how many children to have, which keeps families healthy and safe. In some places, people need more help getting information or supplies, while in others, they have more choices and support.

I learned that wave and tidal energy use ocean movements to generate power. They’re reliable but less developed and more location-specific than solar or wind energy.

What did you learn from visiting or researching a dairy farm?

I learned that dairy farms use lots of technology to care for cows and manage milk production very well. It was surprising how much effort goes into keeping cows healthy and comfortable.

Yes, I had heard of biomass technology before. I was surprised to learn how efficiently it can convert waste into energy. It's a great way to reduce pollution and create renewable power!

It allows me to waste less money because I can tell when things are still able to be eaten and I can still insure im being safe when eating things.

What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

I learned that due to the lack of the correct services, almost 257 million women who want to avoid pregnancy are not using safe and effective family planning methods. The lack of support that other people may show women and parents makes it more difficult for parents to act and plan effectively and properly. The needs of different people in different places change due to their environment around them. People’s needs change based on how many people they have in their family or what their community is like. Around the world people prioritize different things and so these things go in demand based on where you live.

What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Henry James's avatar

Barriers in my community to women's equal participation include not having a lot of other women in science who can be role models or mentors. Women also often make less money and have more home responsibilities.
