Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Support Local Food Systems
Plant-Rich Diets
I will source 25 percent of my food from local producers each day. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildingsCities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Emmett Winton 4/22/2025 4:50 PMoffering like monetary value to it so people would get payed like small amounts of money for doing things that are environmentally helpful -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some attributes of an offset that you should consider before purchasing them?
Emmett Winton 4/09/2025 8:04 AMDoes the project truly reduce emissions that wouldn't have been reduced otherwise?. How long the emission reductions will last. If the emissions reductions can be accurately measured and verified. Weather or not the offset is certified by a reputable organization. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and EducationWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?
Emmett Winton 4/08/2025 7:59 AM1.-It's very important to make sure you are in a good financial state to take care of a family. You also need to make sure you are healthy and ready to have a child. It's also important not to have too many children because more people in your family means more resource consumption and climate impact. You also need to make sure all of your children can be educated and raised into functioning adults, this means living in an area that has access to schools or at least transportation to schools.
2.-Here, like in America, there are more impoverished places where people can't afford groceries because there aren't job opportunities or other reasons. These people need stuff like healthcare, money, food, cars, sometimes even homes, but often can still send their kids to school and live in urbanized areas as well as have access to stuff like libraries and other public amenities like homeless shelters and stuff like that. In other places like Africa there are places that are very impoverished where there is often not access to schools or even access to transportation to places with schools to its very hard for people to learn how to do things they aren't raised around and these are the people that often get married off at young ages before they finish schooling if they even go, there are also more wealthy parts of Africa or people in the tribes with more status that are the ones getting married to the little girls. The impoverished people in Africa need stuff like water, food transportation, schools, and they also need healthcare and basic public amenities so it's harder to raise a family there. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Emmett Winton 4/01/2025 12:01 PMIt empowers me to make better decisions by knowing that food doesn't go bad as quickly as you think it does and those are simply quality guidelines -
