  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?

I learned that tidal energy is a thing. It not as massed produced like wind and solar so I will see how it does.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

On top of buildings like the Eiffel Tower or tall buildings. In areas that have open space or places high up to get easy wind.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

Your diet can contain palm oil, which causes people to destroy the environment by getting this oil. Just don't eat food that has palm oil in it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Had you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!

I have not learned about biomass technology. I learned that it can save a lot of money and help the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

I say if we do this then it will help stop climate change and save the planet.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    McClain Willis's avatar
    McClain Willis 4/02/2025 6:13 AM
I have not heard the term silvopatsure before. I think the biggest advantage is the way the cows don't lose weight in summer when it is very hot because of trees.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    McClain Willis's avatar
    McClain Willis 3/28/2025 6:33 AM
It shows that its quality of it is the way they make money and that the bad stuff will be Thrown out.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

We can save more food for everyone if we give less food to us and will make more for others.
