REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Learn about the Need for Family PlanningWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?
Madalyn Wentz (902) 10/07/2024 6:51 PMThe need for family planning is very important for not only prevent unwanted pregnancies, but economic growth in families, educational opportunities for women, and control over individual rights. In my research, I found that lower income households had a harder time obtaining family planning resources compared to those in higher income households. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Madalyn Wentz (902) 10/07/2024 6:45 PMI have noticed that a love more people walked than I thought did. I know people walk for fun, but it was a lot more people I encountered than I thought. I enjoyed seeing my neighbors and different homes. Some thing that would make my walk more enjoyable is if people payed more attention on the road. There are some times too many reckless drivers while walking on the street. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Madalyn Wentz (902) 10/07/2024 6:42 PMEating small portions can help keep ourselves healthier by not overeating. Sometimes, when we load our plates, we tend to eat more than we need to. We eat with out eyes instead of our stomachs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Madalyn Wentz (902) 10/07/2024 6:41 PMEating more fruits and vegetables has a positive affect on ourselves because it makes us healthier and has a good effect on our bodies that makes us feel good. Fruits and vegetables makes us have energy that is lasting. Less meat is good for our planet because it leads to less cattle having to be bred and discarded. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Watch Drawdown's Climate Solutions 101 SeriesWhat was an inspiring thing you learned in Drawdown's Climate Solutions 101 Series?
Madalyn Wentz (902) 10/07/2024 6:28 PMSomething inspiring I having learned in the Series is that in order to secure our future as a planet and species, we must be able to take control over climate change. Economy and survival is all connected to our climate. There is no future if we keep neglecting our planet. Green house gases are increasing on our planet, which traps heat, creating a warmer climate. We must take control of this.
