  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Advocate for High-Speed Rail
What are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety. What would need to change for you to regularly choose more climate-friendly options?

After researching the effectiveness of European high-speed rail, I am severely disappointed in the US infrastructure. If it were available in more places, I would regularly take the train.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Previously, I had heard about biomass, but I had not done much research into it. What surprised me was learning how resource-intensive it is and that it has a very high operating cost compared to other energy sources.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

micro wind turbines could be placed on top of the large hills surrounding York.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

Geothermal energy is relatively unknown by the general public, so posting on social media to raise awareness can have a large impact.
