I've asked chat to give me some good ecological news and here what I've got :

    1. Costa Rica – Nearly all of its electricity comes from renewable sources, especially hydro, wind, geothermal, and solar. It also restored a large part of its forest cover through conservation programs and tree planting.
      open popover
    2. Germany – Invested heavily in renewable energy through its “Energiewende” transition. By 2023, renewables supplied almost 60% of its electricity, and the country also cut greenhouse gas emissions significantly compared with 1990 levels.
      open popover
    3. China – Launched massive reforestation projects like the Three-North Shelter Forest Program, planting billions of trees to fight desertification. It also reduced air pollution levels in major cities through strict pollution-control plans.
      open popover
    4. India – Expanded solar and wind power rapidly and set major clean-energy targets for the future. It is also promoting rooftop solar and other renewable projects to reduce fossil fuel dependence.
      open popover
    5. Canada – Started the “2 Billion Trees” program to restore forests and improve ecosystems. It is also phasing out coal power and investing more in renewable energy.
      open popover
    6. Denmark – Gets a very large share of its electricity from renewables, especially wind power. It is one of the global leaders in clean energy transition.
      open popover
    7. Iceland – Produces almost all of its electricity from geothermal and hydropower, making it one of the cleanest electricity systems in the world.
      open popover
    8. Norway – Generates more than 95% of its electricity from hydropower, showing how a country can rely mostly on renewable electricity.
      open popover
    9. Ethiopia – Launched the Green Legacy Initiative, aiming to plant billions of trees to restore land and combat deforestation.
      open popover
    10. Bogotá, Colombia – Is electrifying its bus fleet and pushing cleaner public transport to reduce air pollution in the city

What would you add to the list ? Please share some good intiatives from your country/city :)

It may not be as impressive as the above, but it is worth adding to the list the introduction of the deposit system in Poland

Eco habits are small everyday choices that can make a big difference for the planet. By building simple sustainable routines into our daily lives, we can reduce waste, save energy, and help protect natural resources for future generations. Here are some easy eco habits to start practicing today:

    1. Use reusable water bottles and coffee cups
    2. Turn off lights when leaving a room
    3. Unplug chargers and electronics when not in use
    4. Walk, bike, carpool, or use public transit when possible
    5. Bring reusable bags when shopping
    6. Reduce food waste by planning meals
    7. Recycle correctly and follow local guidelines
    8. Compost food scraps if available
    9. Take shorter showers and conserve water
    10. Buy products with less packaging
    11. Repair items instead of replacing them
    12. Choose energy-efficient appliances and bulbs
    13. Use digital notes instead of printing when possible
    14. Support local and sustainable products
    15. Plant native trees or pollinator-friendly plants

My best eco habit is always bringing reusable shopping bags with me. It may seem small, but it helps reduce plastic waste and makes shopping more sustainable.

I’m most proud of making a habit of reusing what I already have instead of buying new things whenever possible. It’s a small change, but it helps reduce waste and makes me feel more mindful about my impact on the planet!
