Katarzyna Wajda 5/06/2026 11:28 PMI've asked chat to give me some good ecological news and here what I've got :- Costa Rica – Nearly all of its electricity comes from renewable sources, especially hydro, wind, geothermal, and solar. It also restored a large part of its forest cover through conservation programs and tree planting.
open popover - Germany – Invested heavily in renewable energy through its “Energiewende” transition. By 2023, renewables supplied almost 60% of its electricity, and the country also cut greenhouse gas emissions significantly compared with 1990 levels.
open popover - China – Launched massive reforestation projects like the Three-North Shelter Forest Program, planting billions of trees to fight desertification. It also reduced air pollution levels in major cities through strict pollution-control plans.
open popover - India – Expanded solar and wind power rapidly and set major clean-energy targets for the future. It is also promoting rooftop solar and other renewable projects to reduce fossil fuel dependence.
open popover - Canada – Started the “2 Billion Trees” program to restore forests and improve ecosystems. It is also phasing out coal power and investing more in renewable energy.
open popover - Denmark – Gets a very large share of its electricity from renewables, especially wind power. It is one of the global leaders in clean energy transition.
open popover - Iceland – Produces almost all of its electricity from geothermal and hydropower, making it one of the cleanest electricity systems in the world.
open popover - Norway – Generates more than 95% of its electricity from hydropower, showing how a country can rely mostly on renewable electricity.
open popover - Ethiopia – Launched the Green Legacy Initiative, aiming to plant billions of trees to restore land and combat deforestation.
open popover - Bogotá, Colombia – Is electrifying its bus fleet and pushing cleaner public transport to reduce air pollution in the city
What would you add to the list ? Please share some good intiatives from your country/city :)-
Ola Kaleta 5/07/2026 12:13 AMIt may not be as impressive as the above, but it is worth adding to the list the introduction of the deposit system in Poland
