  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Buy Bamboo
Are bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?

We have a bulk retailer that focuses on climate change when selecting their products, so I can buy bamboo products there. I could a tooth brush head for electric.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

My township has too many wealthy residents who would fight putting these within the township. We have no free space.
Thinking about Philadelphia, there is a lot of park land available, with forest where micro turbines above the trees might work or along side the expressway.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Food Waste
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 3/19/2024 1:21 PM
I'd rather use the money to buy good wine. Just kidding. I'd use the money to be with friends, dining, hiking, being together and related fully.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Support Companies Leading in Green Energy
Every dollar you put into solar or wind is a dollar not put into traditional financial institutions. You'll also be bolstering the fossil fuel divestment movement, too. Name some companies you know that invest in green energy. How can you support them?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 3/18/2024 9:28 AM
Clean Choice PA; Clean Energy PA; Electric Choice PA; Blue Star
Invest money in Clean Choice PA to support non-profits with installation of solar panels.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 2/12/2024 12:53 PM
We eat more because we can afford to eat meat and it is easily available. Too much meat fat can impact our heart and circulation system as well as create more carbon from producing the meat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 2/12/2024 12:51 PM
It lowers my carbon foot print; especially indirectly from the carbon created to produce meat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Learn about Carbon Offsets
What are some attributes of an offset that you should consider before purchasing them?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 2/11/2024 7:44 AM
assists others in implementing carbon reduction. Doesnt actually reduce your own carbon footprint.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

    DANIEL SUTTON's avatar
    DANIEL SUTTON 2/04/2024 5:03 PM
fish from PA should only be eaten once a week
