Erik Starks 3/18/2026 11:27 PMon today's walk, i revisited the monarch sanctuary down the road. this time i paid more attention to the signs on the sides of the trail and learned more about monarch butterflies. -

i live nearby a monarch butterfly sanctuary, so i stopped by to see if any butterflies were out! there were only a few (and they fly very fast, so no pictures of them <//3).i walked a bit more and saw birds, a cat, and more butterflies. i didn't stay out for too long today since it's hot out. the many trees here helped a lot, but i was still careful not to be out too long.a tree also got sap on my back and i got it on my fingers. -

Erik Starks 3/16/2026 11:34 PMhaven't had much time to post today, but i thought i'd share the latest stuff i've had sans meat. this morning, i had eggs, potatoes with zucchini, plant-based sausage, cauliflower, and fruit. i also had some chai. very delicious!
lunch was nachos with rice, beans, cheese, and salsa verde. unfortunately, we ran out of nacho cheese. oh well.
dinner was jambalaya and cornbread. i really love cornbread, so i had two slices. i also drank dr. pepper. :)

Erik Starks 3/14/2026 7:59 PMtonight's dinner wasn't much new, i had pita with egg salad inside and chips. that being said, upon further examination of the packaging the pita came in, i found that it is vegan and kosher. i thought it was interesting and figured this might be helpful to anyone else who's doing the challenge to reduce their animal products. :))
