Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?
Brandon Sim 4/30/2025 6:05 AMI’ve learned about how tidal energy is made and that it is likely more effective than other energy sources like wind and solar energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Brandon Sim 4/29/2025 6:55 AMProbably in large buildings in downtown areas or more desolate places to give them more electricity. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Brandon Sim 4/23/2025 7:01 AMI don’t believe I have heard of it before this. I am surprised about how well it could replace our normal power plants. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Brandon Sim 4/23/2025 6:11 AMWith money and time, we could install Geothermal Energy systems in places like homeless shelters for people and animals. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Brandon Sim 4/02/2025 6:12 AMI don’t think I have heard of it before this class. From what it looks like, I think the biggest advantage is forage. It seems like the forage is sort of the base of silvopasture as it is a major part of the ecosystem and keeps the land healthy. I would say that the weather/climate change is the biggest disadvantage. It can rip apart the ecosystem and prevent animals from having a home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Brandon Sim 3/28/2025 6:33 AMIf we know all 3 of these, it will influence us to buy something and use something at its best state. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Brandon Sim 3/18/2025 6:27 AMIt isn't helping at all. I could definitely eat more fruits and vegetables as well as drink more water to help. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?
Brandon Sim 3/18/2025 6:19 AMThe first generations of refrigerants (CFCs) destroyed the ozone layer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhat did you learn from visiting or researching a dairy farm?
Brandon Sim 3/18/2025 6:08 AMI learned about how cows are fed, how they make milk, and how they are taken care of.
