I went to Monterey, near Fisherman's Warf, and learned that the tides are high and low depending on the weather and time of day. It was pretty windy when I went and the tides were lower than I remembered. I couldn't find any seaweed but there was a lot of washed-up kelp.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

There is less food waste and people who want extra have enough to grab seconds. Eating smaller portions also ensures people don't overeat, they eat till they're full rather than when they think they are full.

Today I ate with group members for a project and I was more focused on what I was eating while listening. I realized that when I eat with distractions, I’m not aware of what I’m eating or how much of it I am consuming. Today helped me understand that and it was nice to share a meal with no distractions.

I’ve noticed more greenery and nature in my walks. But when I hit areas where there’s more transportation or buildings, it isn’t as much. I do enjoy being able to walk around but there are areas where driving is necessary. I see this with more with areas near freeways.
