Right now one of the main things I've started doing is refusing single use plastic straws at restaurants, carrying reusable metal straws in my backpack, but there are definitely more things I can do, such as buying less snacks packaged in plastic and thrifting, which I've wanted to start doing forever.
For years I've carried a metal water bottle and repurposed single use containers for food storage, as well as using reusable bags.

How close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?

After looking at the map of climate-friendly supermarkets, many of the markets my family goes to, such as the New Leaf and Whole Foods in Capitola, still use HFCs. The closest climate-friendly markets I could find were in San Jose and Santa Clara. However, the map did not take into account other markets I visit, like Capitola's Trader Joe's or the one near our campus at CSUMB. It surprises me that overall the central coast is behind on phasing out HFCs, at least compared to Southern California. I signed the petition for an HCF-free store in our area, and I'd recommend others do the same.
