Find out what’s happening in your neighborhood
While global and national actions get a lot of attention, it’s often at the local community level where individuals can have the greatest input and where change is most tangible. But every community is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/26/2024 7:25 AMI definitely eat slower and enjoy my food way more when not watching tv. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Research Cement AlternativesConcrete is a good example of a material that most of us encounter every day, but its carbon footprint may not be obvious. What other everyday materials might have a large carbon footprint? How can you find out more?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/13/2024 7:51 AMWood and wood composites they are everywhere and I am unsure of their impact on the environment. MY desk at work is all wood composite and a lot of ikea furniture as well. Finding out more would be doing a google search and seeing what the best material to use and what the hidden cost of the wood composites. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Express My Support For Walkable CitiesHow could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/06/2024 7:01 AMRight now our city sidewalks are not in good shape so if you were a wheelchair user it is very difficult to get around. One of the things that would help if a larger scale of sidewalk repairs and repaving take place so it makes it more accessible and safer to walk. Also there are parts of the town where there is no sidewalk so adding that would make it more enjoyable as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Express My Support For Equitable Biking InfrastructureWhat do you like most about biking in your city? What would you like to improve?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/06/2024 6:59 AMTo be honest I don't love biking in the town of Bordentown I like the access to the DNR canal but Bordentown is not safe to bike in. I would love to see a bike lane and more focus on bike safety. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Food WasteAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/06/2024 6:40 AMI would rather use the money to help pay off my student loans! I definitely need to be better about not throwing away as much food as trying to cook for a single person is so hard and I can never get through certain things before they go bad. So I need to be better about purchasing as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate My Household Carbon FootprintAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/04/2024 6:01 PMOne of them is to take fewer flights but it hard to take a flight to wisconsin to visit my friend so made me think how I can offset that with other changes -
Gabryella Pulsinelli 6/01/2024 8:29 PMHappy first day! I had my part time job today so had to check in at the end of the day. But still tried to be mindful about my actions.
