I have started parking in the furthest out parking lots (71 and 59) since the ecochallenge started and I have actually enjoyed it. Not only is it helping me lower my personal carbon footprint. I have been able to engage with my campus and fellow students more. I see more of my campus by having to walk all over to get to my classes and just feel better with the fresh air. I will continue to do this practice for the rest of my time at CSUMB.

Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

After looking over the seafoodwatch.org website supported by the Monterey Bay aquarium I realize that I mostly fall into these guidelines. I will make sure I refer to the list provided for the west coast guide before I buy fish in the future. I noticed for the best green choices most of the fish come locally from the US or they are caught in other countries through environmentally responsible ways. My favorite of the green options are seaweed which I use in lots of dishes as well as rainbow trout which my grandpa would make dishes with a lot.

What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

I want to prioritize my relationships and being in the moment. For the past month I have been going on activities with friends and family to go outside and be in nature. I also discuss with my friends in school what I learn in class and tell them how much the differences are helping not just myself but promoting greener living.

Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

I will make sure that I make a big effort to unplug everything and turn off any lights that are not in use. Additionally, even though I changed the light bulbs, I will make sure to rely on natural lighting for as long as I can during the day.

I made miso soup which has seaweed and tofu! It came out really well and I like the taste of seaweed a lot. I will definitely be cooking with seaweed again!
