Recycle Everything I Can

Recycling; Recycled Metals; Recycled Plastics

Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will research and recycle all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community, including electronics and metals.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use

Reduce Food Waste

Reduced Food Waste

I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during Drawdown Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation, and commit to reducing my food waste throughout the challenge.

DAILY ACTIONS

Transportation

Go for a Daily Walk

Walkable Cities

I will take a walk for 30 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.

Today I walked around the Mojave Desert for about 3 hours. Although it was grueling, it was an amazing experience because I got to go outside and do some adventorus things. One of my favorite things that we did was look up at the night sky in an open desert where there is no light pollution.

Awesome! I love the night sky in the Mojave desert and walking around among the plants. It is beautiful-- the starkness of the hills/mountains in the distance, the rock formation, and maybe even the flowers this time of year!
