REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some more "Rs" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Dylan Moran 4/21/2025 5:46 PMMe and my family have always been pretty good at recycling and reusing/re purposing. We would make Halloween costumes at home and a bunch of other stuff. I could definitely continue being innovative with things I already have, as I have grown up I have also grown less accustomed to re purposing. I could definitely start doing that a lot more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Dylan Moran 4/21/2025 5:37 PMKnowing the difference between these labels can empower you to make better decisions by giving you the opportunity to plan ahead for meals so that the food does not go to waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Dylan Moran 4/19/2025 12:23 PMI go to school, grocery store and hang out with friends. I could carpool with friends or my brother to any of these places. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Dylan Moran 4/19/2025 11:53 AMPeople in richer countries eat more meat because meat is more expensive to produce and in richer countries there's more mass production of meat. Eating excessive meat isn't particularly healthy especially fast food meat, it affects our planet because its not a sustainable food source. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?
Dylan Moran 4/10/2025 2:56 PMI learned how harmful the chemicals in refrigerants can be to people and the environment and how they even caused a hole to form in the stratosphere. Supermarkets contribute to this impact because they use a lot of refrigerators to keep their food cool. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some attributes of an offset that you should consider before purchasing them?
Dylan Moran 4/09/2025 12:00 PMSomething you should consider is what situation you are in. You need to think about how much you are able to spend on an offset and life expectancy of how long you can realistically keep up with offset. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and EducationWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?
Dylan Moran 4/08/2025 9:46 AMI learned that family planning will help to reduce population growth as it provides contraceptives and birth control. We need family planning and to educate women on the topic because having access to this will reduce maternal death and miscarriages and lead to a better and secure life for both the mother and the baby.
The needs of different people from different places compare to each because people who are less wealthy and don't have a good education typically have more babies at a younger age while wealthy and educated people typically wait longer to have children and have less.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildingsCities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Dylan Moran 4/07/2025 9:55 AMWe can make climate action plans equitable and socially just by not upping the cost of living when fixing up a neighborhood to make it more environmentally friendly, so that people who live there don't get displaced. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and EducationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?
Dylan Moran 4/07/2025 9:38 AMSome barriers I see in my community are poverty and teen pregnancy. When teen girls get pregnant they usually drop out of school to take care of their baby and if they don't have support from family/friends it would be really hard to balance getting an education and taking care of a baby. And some people can't afford to go to school or continue to a higher education like college. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Dylan Moran 4/03/2025 9:45 AMSomething I can do to help protect peat lands is to stop buying products that have palm oil in them. I could also reduce my paper waste and recycle.
