Meatless breakfast. High protein (3 eggs, protein waffles, imitation crab: 40g). Really good.
Dinner, I had some (alternative) milk tea and homemade beet salad (red beets, potatoes, onions, pickles, and parsley (all diced)).

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

Eating more fruits in general increases natrual sugars and fills your stomach. Natural sugars take more time for your body to digest it, making it an efficient energy source that your body can use. Including the amount of natural vitamins and acids that your body needs. So, it affects us in a very positive way.

    Electricity
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

Asside from solar pannels, I have power strips that I turn off when I'm not using them, such as my monitor, home laptop, and lamps that are in my room. I commute to school for a few days, so I don't need all of my electronics plugged in.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

Wasted products that go uneaten motivate me to replenish the energy that is in decomposition so that I can use compost/mulch for garden and flower beds. Basically, giving back to the earth. I want to grow tomatoes, basil, bell peppers, and more. And using fresh fruits to grow more fresh fruits by recycling energy is the way to go.

We've installed solar panels. We now mainly rely on solar energy: Solar energy gets stored into a battery. The appliances run off of that battery until it reaches 20%. At 20% and under, the house's energy switches to PG&E
