REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Visit the CoastWhat coastal site did you visit and what did you learn while there?
Noelle Michelman 3/11/2024 9:35 AMOne weekend I went home and visited Long Beach, NY's ocean. The water is so much clearer in the winter months than in the summer due to the direct relationship between water temperature and seaweed growth. I also noticed that the waves are much cleaner in the winter this may be due to the increase in offshore winds. Also, even though the ocean temperature is in the low 40s, surfers are still very active in the water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Noelle Michelman 3/11/2024 9:24 AM- Spending more time outside exposes me to our beautiful and peaceful environment. By giving yourself up completely to nature, with no distractions, one can easily see how important it is to protect the environment because it will protect itself.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Cook With SeaweedWhat recipe did you make and how did it turn out? Will you cook with seaweed again?
Noelle Michelman 2/26/2024 8:35 AMI bought some seaweed from ShopRite and added some to the miso soup I made. It resembled miso soup from the restaurant so I was very excited. I will definitely buy more seaweed and try a different recipe with it.
