REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Makaila Mayer (102) 10/21/2024 5:50 PMI typically carpool places with my mom or sister, that way we all don't have to waste gas when driving to similar places. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Practice the 5 RsWhat are some more "Rs" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Makaila Mayer (102) 10/21/2024 5:49 PMSome of the "Rs" I could add to my daily life include recycling, reusing, and reducing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Reduce Single-Use DisposablesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Makaila Mayer (102) 10/21/2024 5:48 PMI usually use straws and plastic cups especially when getting things such as Starbucks. To reduce this I have gotten Starbucks less, as well as receiving orders in reusable cups instead since Starbucks offers this option. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "Rs" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "Rs" make you feel?
Makaila Mayer (102) 10/21/2024 5:47 PMReusing is a big way that people can implement the "Rs" into their everyday life. It is easy to reuse different containers and things. Implementing these "Rs" makes me feel like I can help make a change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about Wave and Tidal EnergyWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?
Makaila Mayer (102) 10/08/2024 9:25 AMI learned that tidal energy is more powerful than wind energy. So tidal energy can produce more power than turbines.
