Taylor Martin 4/29/2025 10:35 AMThis weekend, I went to Coastalong to support UCLA’s effort to promote sustainable energy. It was a concert powered 100% by bike energy! It was a great event with local foods and sustainability organizations. It was great to be outside with my friends, listen to music, and support a great cause! I wish we had more events like this during the year -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Taylor Martin 4/29/2025 10:32 AMMy daily walks have been amazing! I have went for a long walk in Brentwood, Beverly Hills, and around Westwood. Sometimes I’ll listen to a podcast and sometimes I’ll just listen to the nature around me. This is a great way for me to get active while being outside and getting a good dose of Vitamin D. I am going to try to walk to the store instead of driving! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Taylor Martin 4/29/2025 10:30 AMI’ve been trying to eat smaller portions lately, and honestly, it’s been a bit of a journey. At first, it felt weird serving myself less, and I was worried I’d still be hungry, but I’m starting to notice some positive changes. I’m feeling more satisfied with smaller amounts, and I’m not dealing with that heavy, overly full feeling after meals. It’s helped me focus more on what I actually need, rather than just eating because it’s there. It’s definitely a work in progress, but so far, I’m really noticing the benefits and feeling better overall. -
