  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People in richer countries eat more meat than in other places because richer areas can afford the upkeep of keeping all of the animals. Specifically, cows produce a lot of methane. Livestock keeping produces 14.5% of global GHG emissions.

You can already notice temperatures hitting records this year. It's an indicator of global climate change which we can reduce by doing something as simple as going thrifting.

So far my eco challenge is going well. I'm not surprised that I am doing okay because my lifestyle reflect these tasks. I generally don't eat much meat, I regularly visit the beach, and I receive minimal paper mail.

I visited Casa Verde Beach and it was a really nice beach with minimal litter and the water was very clear.

What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

I don't really prioritize that many material stuff to begin with. I don't do a lot of shopping and the money I do have goes to necessities rather than material things. When I go grocery shopping, i don't buy a lot of things because I don't consume a lot. Usually I can fit everything I need in a reusable tote bag or 2.
