REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Ella Herr 4/21/2025 9:55 AMPeople in richer countries have better access to luxuries such as meat and often lean towards over consumption compared to someone in a poorer country. One way eating meat affects us/our planet is excessive meat consumption leads to deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and animal abuse. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered SinksWhat coastal site did you visit and what did you learn while there?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryHow close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?
Ella Herr 4/21/2025 9:46 AMThe nearest climate friendly supermarket is unfortunately several hours away. While it's not realistic to shop hours away, it is possible to shop environmentally friendly by getting a good portion of groceries from local farmers markets. I think an important step in encouraging local grocery stores to end the use of HFC refrigerants is first making sure people are informed on the danger of it.
