  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Plan to Insulate

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/17/2024 5:03 AM
It would save you a ton of money in utility bills as you would not need as much energy to run your heat and ac, plus it would help everything else need less power too which would save even more money
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Replace Manual Thermostats
How do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for smart ones will positively impact your life?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/17/2024 5:02 AM
It would save energy and positively impact my life as the house would not need to have crazy AC or heat 24/7 at the times I am not in the house
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Install a Low-Flow Showerhead
What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/17/2024 5:02 AM
A sustainable water future would be home systems that can get water from the ground and filter it naturally without needing any of the fancy electricity systems that is not sustainable
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Upgrade My Windows
How does improving your home's (or office's) energy efficiency help you better live out your values?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:23 PM
It can help us control the environment in the house which controls the amount of electrity needed for the house to function and stay at the right temperature
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Buildings Learn about the Legacy of Redlining
How does city planning and design relate to equity and climate change?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:22 PM
It can help climate change because people have to learn to live on less and be more careful about what they use. For example a city could be all electric and force the citizens to make different purchases than they normally would to survive
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Share to Social Media: Transportation
Have you been sharing what you learned throughout Drawdown Ecochallenge? How have people responded?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:20 PM
I have been sharing it throughout snapchat and my business's social medias and nobody really responded to it
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 2
How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:19 PM
It was really hard to change my diet as most of the food I eat good and bad is wrapped in materials that are not recycleable and are bad for the environment. It forced me to make a lot more food at home rather than buying it somewhere at the store.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Choose Better Wood Products
Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:19 PM
I think forests offer a place where people can go hike and enjoy nature without needing to worry about the hectic cities. I personally like places where there are not a lot of people and just being able to enjoy nature
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:18 PM
My diet is currently impacting deforestation as I consume a lot of materials that are wrapped in paper and plastic and both of those harm the environment greatly just by doing so. I need to start using more re useable containers in order to fix this
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Nicholas Fine (101)'s avatar
    Nicholas Fine (101) 10/13/2024 2:17 PM
We have to learn about the seriousness of the environment and why we need to take care of it otherwise the Earth will not be here for a long time. This is scary as most humans do not take care of the earth
