My neighborhood recently had a stoplight installed with street crossing for a busy street that now allows me to safely connect with a whole new area. This addition has been a good reminder how simple changes can significantly improve accessibility and walkability.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

I feel like OKC is so windy they could be installed just about anywhere!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

OKC has a pretty great climate plan, AdaptOKC, and I know it is scheduled to be updated/reviewed. Having diverse reviewers, and listening to them is important, as well as utilizing federal funding focused on low income and disadvantaged communities to improve sustainability in areas with more need.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

Reducing meat consumption reduces greenhouse gases and water consumption, and that eating more veggies is better for my health. I also don't want to contribute to factory farming, and feel better when I opt out of participating in that system.
