Coastal Wetland Protection
I will write 2 letters or emails per day to a public official or representative to advocate for policies that protect wetlands.
Walkable Cities
I will find out who in my city makes decisions that impact neighborhood walkability and express my support for better walking infrastructure.
Electric Bicycles
I will test drive an electric bike at a local distributor to see if it makes sense to use one in place of my car, or to extend the area I can cover by bike.
High-Speed Rail
I will spend at least 30 minutes researching and advocating for a comprehensive high speed rail network in my country/region.
LED Lighting
I will replace 10 incandescent lightbulbs with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Refrigerant Management
I will explore the interactive map in the links below to find a supermarket that does not use HFC refrigerants near my home.
Multiple Industry Solutions
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.
Geothermal Power
I will spend at least 15 minutes learning more about the energy generation potential of geothermal energy and consider investing in this technology.
I will spend 15 minutes learning about carbon offsets, and why they are a necessary solution in combating a climate crisis.
Forest Protection
I will contact 3 congress people or representatives to advocate for public policy that protects forests and the enforcement of existing anti-logging laws, as well as the rights of local people to protect and restore the land in their communities.
Family Planning and Education
I will spend at least 15 minutes learning more about the barriers to women's equal participation and representation around the world.
Improved Fisheries
I will ask my local seafood market or grocery store if their seafood is sustainable and share the Seafood Watch resources so they can stock sustainable options.
Multiple Solutions
I will support a community garden by volunteering, donating, or advocating for a new or existing one.
Abandoned Farmland Restoration
I will contact 3 elected officials to voice my opinion on the importance of restoring farmland in my region, including both public and private land.
Tropical Forest Restoration
I will spend at least 15 minutes researching the impact of my diet to see how it contributes to deforestation.
Onshore Wind Turbines, Offshore Wind Turbines
I will write or call 3 elected officials telling them not to support fossil fuel subsidies and instead support wind energy generation.
Methane Leak Management
I will contact the fossil fuel companies that supply energy in my community and ask how they manage and reduce methane leakage.
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 3 cups of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
