Adeze Chukwu 4/26/2024 6:46 PMToday, I spent 34 minutes outside running with my sister. -
Adeze Chukwu 4/17/2024 6:53 PMI learned today that glass perfume bottles are not eligible for curbside recycling and should be placed in the trash in the Greater Montreal Area. They are considered as household hazardous waste and can be dropped off at ecocenters. Pick up of these materials are also available, link to schedule:https://montreal.ca/en/how-to/get-details-hazardous-household-waste-travelling-collection-
Jessica Burpee 4/24/2024 10:21 AMThank you for this resource, Adeze!

Adeze Chukwu 4/17/2024 6:42 PMToday, I read about this farm called the solidarity farm which "carbon farms". Carbon farming is the process of using agricultural techniques that capture and retain carbon in the soil. These techniques include crop rotation, growing perennial crops, and avoiding tilling. Here is a link to the article: https://reasonstobecheerful.world/carbon-farming-climate-change-regenerative-practices/-
Jessica Burpee 4/24/2024 10:21 AMGreat job, Adeze. I hope more farmers will be able to incorporate these practices when feasible.

Adeze Chukwu 4/17/2024 6:37 PMI recently added the reduce animal produce to my dashboard because I watched this documentary called Cowspiracy, and I became conscious of how much energy, water and resources go towards cattle farming. In the documentary it talked about how 660 gallons of water is required to make 1 lb of beef, which I found mind-blowing (this number varies per farm Location). To play a part in reducing farming impact, I am trying to eat atleast 1 animal free meal per day. Today I had oats in the morning and potatoes as lunch.-
Jessica Burpee 4/24/2024 10:23 AMOoo, I love my organic oatmeal in the morning, and I add frozen blueberries b/c they're yummy and they cool down the oatmeal faster (yes, I'm impatient)

Jessica Burpee 4/24/2024 10:23 AMI am very impressed!

Adeze Chukwu 4/17/2024 12:08 PMWhile picking different seeds for a seed presentation I have, I saw a Chinese catalpa, a tree Indigenous to china. The seeds look really cool, they are like vanilla pods. I'm happy that I learned about a new tree, even though it isn't native. -
Adeze Chukwu 4/15/2024 5:00 PMDrawdown challenge is going great for me so far, especially with my daily actions. Today, while spending time in nature, I discovered a new park, I saw a rainbow, and I feel so happy.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?
Adeze Chukwu 4/15/2024 4:56 PMI got and led bulb and I' m so excited to install it, because it not only eco-friendly, but it comes with a remote so I can switch off and on my light FROM MY BED! It also has different colors setting. Next, I'll fix my leaking tap. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Share Bioplastic Disposal TipsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Adeze Chukwu 4/14/2024 3:30 PMI am concerned most with how human activities, specifically waste habits, affect wild life. I think both localy and globally there is an illiteracy around proper disposal. I feel if more people were properly educated on the subject, there is potential to divert more recyclables from landfills.-
Jessica Burpee 4/24/2024 10:28 AMJAC is really good at teaching people about this in the outdoor education trips/ courses. Here's a link to their LNT method: https://leavenotrace.ca/ But of course we have just as much of an impact from the middle of the city, since all our waste ends up somewhere in nature eventually. Here's an app we can use at our house: https://www.recyc-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/appmobile-cavaou/
