  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health and Education
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/30/2025 10:55 AM
I learned that people don't plan properly. Some families need more than others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/30/2025 10:41 AM
They are underdeveloped forms of energy that have good potential but not enough research or spending.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/29/2025 11:10 AM
They could be installed on the buildings.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/28/2025 10:35 AM
I notice that some people walk extremely slow for no reason. I have enjoyed it when it is not hot outside. Stairs make my walks more enjoyable.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/28/2025 10:32 AM
It doesn't change much, I just read when I finish eating.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Had you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/23/2025 11:04 AM
I have heard of biomass before. Nothing surprised me though.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/23/2025 10:35 AM
I cannot invest in geothermal energy because I have no money.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 4/02/2025 10:44 AM
I had not heard of silvopastures before. The biggest advantage is that it keeps the cows healthier and happier. They have shade and better grass to eat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 3/28/2025 11:06 AM
Knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by lets me know that I shouldn't buy bad food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    Hayes Christine's avatar
    Hayes Christine 3/18/2025 11:19 AM
I eat a bunch of palm oil (yummy) and chocolate (yummy). I could eat less but I love chocolate and whatever palm oil is for.
