    Land Sinks
Higher standards of living are very often dependent on moving our environmental costs elsewhere. What are some specific ways in which the environmental impacts of your own lifestyle might be shifted elsewhere?

With manufacturing because most of the things that I own come from other countries such as China or India, and these countries often have low environmental regulations. Also, with food production because some of the food that I eat comes from other countries, and during the process of farming deforestion and water depletion will often occur

Also, there’s one more thing I did for washing my clothes and it’s that I used less detergent because it’s harmful to the environment.

In addition to changing the way a wash my clothes, I also changed the way I dry my clothes to. I did this by hanging my clothes to dry on my treadmill and pointing a fan on it, instead of using a dryer. It took a lot longer to dry, but helped me save money on electricity.

In the article that I read for my one time action it said to wash your clothes on a colder temperature and a bigger load, instead of a warmer temperature and a smaller load. It worked the same and helped me save money on electricity.

This is another example of how you can use smaller plates to reduce food waste and become healthier. Because the bowl on the left is the one I normally use for my vegetables that I have for lunch but instead I poured them into the bowl on the right. The bowl on the left now shows how much food I didn’t eat because I used a smaller bowl.

This picture shows how using smaller plates can help us reduce our food waste and become healthier. Because the red bowl is the one I would normally use for my cereal, but instead I took the cereal from the red bowl and poured it into the black bowl and what’s left in the red bowl is the cereal I would have eaten if I used that bowl.

This was my one time action that I completed, and this was the article that I read, which was very interesting and eye opening and you should try to read it if you have the time. https://eco.ca/blog/what-is-sustainable-fashion/

Learning about sustainable fashion has made me realize that the global fashion system has so many ethical problems, and it all starts with fast fashion. Because major brands such as H and M, Forever 21, adidas use sweat shops in foreign countries to manufacture their clothes and in these places the workers are abused such as with unlivable wages, 60 hour work weeks, hazardous working conditions etc.
