I spent 20 mins researching two black woman owned hair care lines. I recently did my own braids so I felt like it was the perfect time to revamp my products. I used Camille Rose leave-in conditioner and Mielle Organics rosemary hair oil. Camille Rose was established in 2011 by Janell Stephens who started creating the products as a hobby in her kitchen. Mielle Organics was established in 2014 by Monique Rodrigez whose natural hair journey went viral on social media and inspired her to create a haircare line. I love both of these products and have been using them for years so it was nice to get the history on how they were created.

Knowing the difference between the use by, sell by, and best by dates helps limit the amount of waste we have when purchasing and consuming food. I know that it makes a huge difference on how I meal prep and if I'm able to finish the food before it goes bad. Especially things like fresh fruits and vegetables

What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

I spent 20 mins researching family planning and found that it's essential that people have access to resources. Having the proper education on family planning can help prevent unwanted pregnancies, help reduce health risks, and empowering women to make more informed decisions

Anytime I shop and I have the option to opt out of a printed receipt, I choose to have it emailed. All my bills are paperless as well and are emailed. I'll also be unsubscribing from a magazine that I no longer read.

I do this too. Especially at Walgreens and CVS!

Those printed receipts are also a source of BPA which we all know is hazardous. Maybe you getting a receipt won’t do much, but the people at the checkout handle hundreds a day. You are protecting them as well.

For lunch today I made a salmon poke bowl. It's kind of become a fixation meal for me. It's prepared with either fresh or frozen salmon I chose frozen for convenience. Marinate the salmon in soy sauce and I use a little honey as well. You can either pan fry it or use an air fryer to cook the salmon. I use instant brown rice and drizzle that with rice vinegar then prepare edamame, shredded carrots, and then I use these little seaweed wraps to scoop it up. I'm allergic to avocado but I'm sure adding that would be delicious. I top mine with black sesame seeds. The sauces I use are kewpie mayo and sriracha. So yummy!
