Cay Bessey 3/18/2024 11:34 AMPlastic is nearly impossible to fully avoid but I am thinking about steps that I can take ahead of time to avoid cumilating unnecessary plastic. -
Cay Bessey 3/18/2024 11:34 AMI found this site a bit a hard to navigate. I do think it would be helpful if they changed the interface but overall it was helpful for me. -
Cay Bessey 3/18/2024 11:33 AMI am currently renting a room in a beautiful to two individuals who are environmentally conscious. I reached out to them with further information on heat pumps! They seem like a no brainer to install and if I had my own house I would be on board -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Plastics AuditWhat was the hardest item to reduce using or cut out that is plastic? Did you find a way to do it?
Cay Bessey 3/08/2024 7:28 PMFood and drinks! I am doing my best to not purchase things that are individually wrapped, I try my best to stick to glass, but overall this is challenging considering that everything is wrapped in plastic.-
Suzanne Worcester 3/20/2024 5:05 PMOne thing that has helped me to reduce plastic is to bring my own bags (bread, tortilla, etc. bags) to the Farmer's market (or even a grocery store) and fill them. At the Farmer's market in Monterey (the Del Monte Mall) on Friday mornings you can get bread, fish, pastries, nuts, refillable olive oil bottles, flowers, and of course tons of fruits and veggies. Almost everything you can put in your own bags (and they have meats and salami too for carnivores-- those are packaged)-- and I forgot the goat cheeses and raw milk cheeses.

Cay Bessey 3/07/2024 12:16 PMGoing well! I am doing plastic audit on my daily life and realizing that there are smaller choices that I can make everyday to minimize the amount of plastics that I am using. I don't see the possibility of getting rid of it entirely but I do see where I can make the improvements.
