I think if more people are aware of this, this can really help in reducing food waste. It is a fact that not only the meal is wasted, but every step of the process of getting food to that plate is wasted as well when it's not eaten. We should do our best to reduce that loss.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Pauline Archer 10/25/2024 3:14 PMIt's very interesting learning about the differences between sell, use, and best by dates. I already knew that I could eat certain foods beyond the best-by date, as long as they don't exhibit signs of spoilage, but seeing that there isn't a universally accepted description is really surprising. Same with it not being a federally regulated thing, beyond baby formula.
I think if more people are aware of this, this can really help in reducing food waste. It is a fact that not only the meal is wasted, but every step of the process of getting food to that plate is wasted as well when it's not eaten. We should do our best to reduce that loss. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Watch Drawdown's Climate Solutions 101 SeriesWhat was an inspiring thing you learned in Drawdown's Climate Solutions 101 Series?
Pauline Archer 10/08/2024 3:33 PMIt's really interesting seeing the tie between privilege and climate change, and how a lot of the solutions that a lot of figures tend to push are inaccessible to those who are poor. Solutions towards climate change cannot be inflexible. It needs to be able to meld and work with different environments, people, and ways of living- or else solutions will stay as theoretical solutions, not actual actions.
