REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Cook With SeaweedWhat recipe did you make and how did it turn out? Will you cook with seaweed again?
Sofia Beau Prado 5/07/2024 7:34 AMThe meal I made was sushi and it turned out very good. It was easier than I thought to make and I hope to make it again. I will definitely cook with seaweed again if I can find good recipes. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Sofia Beau Prado 5/07/2024 5:24 AMWhat I have noticed after going on daily runs/walks is that I am happier with myself. I have enjoyed going with my dog and finding different paths throughout my neighborhood. To make it more enjoyable I could run a more scenic route. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Research PeatlandsMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Sofia Beau Prado 5/03/2024 9:21 AMTo help protect peatlands even though I'm far away, I can choose to not buy products with palm oil and paper plantations so they can lose money and not sell that anymore.

Sofia Beau Prado 5/03/2024 6:19 AMThe Drawdown Ecochallenge is going fairly good so far I have completed various challenges that I didn't know made an impact like this and I have learned a lot. -
Sofia Beau Prado 5/03/2024 6:18 AMI joined this challenge because of my Earth and Environmental Science class. I choose the actions that I did because they seem like challenges I can take part in and accomplish the most to make an impact. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Cook With Sustainable SeafoodWhat did you cook and how did it turn out? Can you share a recipe on the feed for others to try?
Sofia Beau Prado 5/03/2024 6:11 AMMy mom and I cooked salmon last night for dinner with rice and salad and it turned out great. We don't really have a recipe to follow, we just use whatever is available and it turns out great. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Sofia Beau Prado 5/03/2024 6:07 AMEating more fruits and vegetables makes me in a happier mood throughout the day and it makes me feel better about myself. It affects others and the planet because more fruits mean less meat eating and less processed snacks leading to less waste. I love eating fruit its natures candy and I already eat fruit everyday. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Research the Climate Impact of RefrigerantsWhat did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?
Sofia Beau Prado 4/30/2024 10:05 AMI learned that the climate impacts of refrigerants increases the heat of the atmosphere and increases the rates of climate change. The greenhouse gasses of CFCs and HFCs are contributing to harmful pathways to global heating and are harming the planet. Supermarkets can contribute to this impact by selling better options to help the planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Sofia Beau Prado 4/30/2024 9:17 AMHaving access to various kinds of transportation throughout my life has influenced my attitude about transportation because the more I use a bus instead of using more gas by my parent driving me to school, I learned that it uses less gas, less fossil fuels in the atmosphere, and is a money saver. -
