    Throwing out produce that I didn't end up eating in time feels like a big waste. Also, when making dishes with vegetables, there tends to be a lot of ends and stalks that get thrown out because they are not as tender as some of the leafier parts of the plants.     Eating and serving smaller portions would help with weight loss and would save money. The less food you buy, the cheaper your shopping would be.

    For carrots you can use the stalks to be boiled in rice to make it flavored. The rest of the carrot can be washed with vinegar (no need to skin) and used in a soup or a side for any meal.

    By serving smaller portions, you are able to see how much food is necessary to be  eatent one time, and you can stretch out that amount of food to last longer than a couple of days, which decreases the need to go out and buy more food, therefore using more resources and increasing carbon footprint

    Buying things in bulk instead of buying things with individual packing can make a big difference in terms of the amount of waste produced from a household. Switching to minimal packaging or reusable packaging has a huge impact on the environment. It can become easier if you plan ahead and buy fresh produce and do meal preparation.

    It's easy to pick up more food than you actually will end up eating but it is very simple to get more again and therefore waste less.
