I personally love going on daily walks because not only does it have positive impacts on my body physically, but has positive impacts on me emotionally as well.  Going on walks is a mood-booster and clears my mind on days that I have a lot going on.  I enjoy the outdoors always, so everything about a walk on a nice day is enjoyable.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People in richer countries eat more meat than others because meat costs more money, therefore, people in certain countries can afford it.  Eating meat affects our bodies in positive ways because eating meat gives us protein, which is something that is necessary daily to fuel our bodies.  However, eating meat can affect our planet negatively because it requires killing our Earth's animals, which a lot of people are not okay with, therefore, that is why many people are vegan or vegetarian.
  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Some other benefits include a healthier food intake and lifestyle.  By portioning your food and only giving yourself a certain amount to each with each meal, you are less likely to keep going up for seconds which will help with carb intake.

Its mostly because of the affluent culture, meat is an expensive product and not everyone can afford it. Eating meat everyday can have an impact on our health. I know excessive consumption of red meat is linked with cardiovascular diseases and also other medical conditions like cholesterol, and uric acid.

It's important to me because I know my actions directly have an impact on my surroundings. And I care because I don't want to just exist, I want to create a healthy and safe environment, for myself and coming generations.

So far my challenge is going great! I am being forced to study and read about things that I didn't think of before. Hopefully with little contributions, I can make a difference.

I enjoy the integration of trees in the sidewalks, however the brutalist architecture ruins my enjoyment of the plants

When I eat while practicing mindfulness I am able to enjoy and appreciate the meal I am eating and also the company I am with instead of being distracted.
