  • Reflection Question
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Elizabeth Welsh 2/13/2020 9:45 PM
Richer countries eat more meat, because they can afford it.
Meat affect our bodies in countless ways. Meat induces inflammatory responses in our bodies. Micro-inflammatory responses are thought to contribute to arthritis, Gastro -intestinal issues, diabetes, and many autoimmune diseases. There is also the myriad affects on our bodies from the process by which the meat is produced in the animal as well as conserved afterwards. ( hormones, preservatives, etc.)
The planet is adversely affected by the methane produced by these animals as a major cause of the climate crisis , not to mention the contribution to the global climate crisis by deforestation that is necessary for grazing.
  • Reflection Question

Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    Elizabeth Welsh 2/13/2020 9:20 PM
I can Advocate fro it. I can spread the word about those I know that use geothermal.
