What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

    sean warman 4/20/2019 4:58 AM
The negative impact from the use of nitrogen based fertilizers. But if managed better we can reduce its impact.  To reduce the effects by attending to the Four R’s.Right source, right time right place, right rate.

What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    sean warman 4/12/2019 5:35 AM
Setting up a system and establishing habits makes this one easy. I use my own water bottle, coffee mug, when traveling, or for day trips. Reusable glass and plastic containers for food storage and transport.
  • Reflection Question

Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?

    Materials Research Cement Alternatives
Concrete is a good example of a material that most of us encounter every day, but may its carbon footprint is not obvious. What other everyday materials might have a large carbon footprint? How can you find out more?

    sean warman 4/09/2019 2:17 PM
Steal production has a large carbon footprint, due to both manufacturing and transportation.
IPCC projections suggest that CO2 emissions from buildings will continue to account for one-third of global CO2 emissions.
