Well, I have not sold my truck, yet. I do have a strong nibble on it, though.

I bought this truck in November 2002, brand new. We choose her because at the time, Toyota Tundras were the top rated truck in that class for off-center, head-on crashes, and our teenage son was about to be a licensed driver. The accident that resulted in the highest death of teenage boy drivers was the off-center, head-on crash, and we kinda wanted to protect the boy. He was never in an accident, but it was nice feeling that he was somewhat protected.

The truck's name is "Bertha" and she has served me well for 21 years. When I sell her, I will take public transit for most trips, a ride-sharing service for late night or early morning trips, and a rental car for trips not easily serviced by bus or train. I'll miss the convenience of my own vehicle, but I will not miss the insurance, upkeep, and $100 to fill it with fossil fuels.

When I can afford a vehicle again, it will be an electric.

One of my goals is to find a 100+ acre parcel with a year-round stream or bordering a river. I plan to be "off grid" with wind, solar, and water-generated electricity. Geothermal heating and cooling are a component of that goal.

My home and my office focus on eliminating plastics and styrofoam. We specifically seek out items that are packaged in recyclable containers.
