"Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?"
My son is 17 years old, and is convinced that our society will collapse within 20 years, due to global warming and the social challenges that will arise. I still have hope that we can alter our path, but it will take effort from all of us.
I chose reading about geothermal energy as my first task, because my Dad once told me that Colorado has a lot of untapped geothermal energy, and I wanted to find out what was happening in my state to work on that. It's local, and research seems right up my alley (much more so than emailing or advocating).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

I read it used to be thought that Colorado didn't have the heat energy needed to create power. That has changed. I'm wondering why I don't hear more about that, and what I can do so that my state can do better.
