My son is 17 years old, and is convinced that our society will collapse within 20 years, due to global warming and the social challenges that will arise. I still have hope that we can alter our path, but it will take effort from all of us.
I chose reading about geothermal energy as my first task, because my Dad once told me that Colorado has a lot of untapped geothermal energy, and I wanted to find out what was happening in my state to work on that. It's local, and research seems right up my alley (much more so than emailing or advocating). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More About Geothermal EnergyGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Amitra Schwols 10/02/2023 1:00 PMI read it used to be thought that Colorado didn't have the heat energy needed to create power. That has changed. I'm wondering why I don't hear more about that, and what I can do so that my state can do better.
